NEW ZEALANDERS FIGURE IN THE INTER-VARSITY CONTESTS GOOD PERFORMANCES

(Rec. Nov. 26, 11.20 p.m.) London, Nov. 25. Oxford defeated Cambridge by four and a-half events to two and a half events in the inter- Varsity relay. The most outstanding performance was Oxford' s win in the two-mile when her representatives had 40 yards to spare and completed the relay in 7min 2-5sec, a record for the contest. Oxford was assisted by Lovelock, the New Zealander, who also helped to win the fonr-mile. The New Zealander, Gresson, assisted Cambridge in a dead-heat in the 400 yards. Gresson and the Australian, Loxton, were included among the unsuccessful Cambridge men in the half-mile low hurdles.
