General situation: A shallow depression covers the eastern Tasman and is moving slowly on to the Dominion. A moderate anti-cyclone is situated over the western Tasman. Winds: Northerly, backing to southerly to-night in the south and southerlies extending over the Dominion. Force moderate generally but strong in some exposed positions. Weather: Becoming cloudy to overcast. Scattered showers developing into rain in most districts. ■ Temperatures mild. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and mininvjm thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourlst Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
