THE WEATHER
The Gov«rnment meteorolonist issued tho foilowing weather report and forecast fast night:— ' General situation: An anticyclone now covers New Zealand, but a depression is located .over tbe northern Tasman, although it appears to be losing intensity. Winds: Moderate to strong northerlies in and south of Cook Strait and freshening somewhat. Weather: Fair to fine in most parts, but still somewhat unsettled in the Auckland province with scattered rain later. Showers extending to the eastern districts of the North Island. Temperatures cold in the South Island with some inland frosts. Milder in the North Island. Foilowing are the barometer, maxlmgrri.and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
