FRANKTON
There was not as large a yarding of fat sheep as at previous saies at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards yesterday, when quotations for wethers and ewes showed an improvement on late values. Larnbs and hoggets also sold well, last week's rates being well maintained. Ox beef came f orward in well up to average numbers and a steady demand saw values improve slightly. There was not as large a yarding of cow beef and prices remained unchanged. There was a full yarding of pigs and late values were maintained. Quotations : — Sheep. — Extra prime shorn wethers, 25s to 26s ld; fat shorn wethers, 23s to 24s 3d; unfinished woolly wethers, 20s 6d to 22s; fat ewes, 16s to 18s; fat shorn ewes, 12s to 13s 3d; fat hoggets, 21s to 23s 6d; fat lambs, 15s to 21s. Beef. — Heavy fat bullocks, £6 18s to £7 ls; medium fat bullocks, £6 10s to £6 15s; lighter fat bullocks, £5 18s to £6 5s; prime fat cows and heifers, £4 18s 6d to £5 5s; medium fat cows, £3 18s to £4 12s 6d; lighter fat cows, £2 18s 6d to £3 12s. Pigs. — Heavy baconers, 40s to 57s; heavy porkers, 26s to 38s; weaners, 11s to 15s: slies. 16s to 22s.
