STEPS TAKEN TO BAR THE OVERSEAS POT-HUNTERS RETALIATION OVERDUE
-By Telegraph — Copyright),
London, Nov. 20. With the object of affording English undergraduates a fair chance to win their blues, Cambridge University has barred American and otber overseas athletes from competing at the inter-varsity sports. This will not apply to overseas students taking a full course at Cambridge, but is directed against Ameri-can-trained athletes who do a year at Cambridge solely to get their blue. Overseas students who have completed a year or more at another university will not be eligible to represent Cambridge at inter-varsity sports unless under 19. The rule will be enforced in 1934. Officials state tbat a similar regulation in America^.operates against British athletes, and retaliation is long overdue. It is noteworthy tbat there is no such ban at Oxford.
