Rec. 7 p.m. Washington, Nov. 19. The Chamber of Commerce's at"tack on Mr. Roosevelt's monetar,y policy yesterday was folloyred by the announcement to-day that th.e Chamber has appointed a commitr tee to investigate the N.R.A. with the id'ea of demanding radical changes in the compulsory codes. Mr. Silas Strawn, one of the coinmitteenien, declared that the Government could not compel businessmen to obey "the unworkable and impossible" features of the code. Meanwhile, according to word from Warm Springs, Mr. Roosevelt has no intention of modifying his gold' buying policy, despite the criticism and indicated that he w*ould continue to raise the gold prices from time to time, although he would attempt to avoid sharp fluctuations in exchange.
