In the course of remarks at the welcome social to Synod delegates at St. Paul's Church, Cambridge, on Tuesday night, the chairman, the Rev. W. J. Oxbrow, caused hearty laughter at the expense of the New Zealand Railways, when he said that he fully realised the extent of the South Auckland Methodist territory for he often had to make long and tedious journeys by rail.
