A RICH MINE
LUCKY PROSPECTORS STRIKE YALUABLE ORE. IN OLD GROUND. Kalgoorlie, November 7. From a prospecting area near Mulline, on. the North Coolgardie goldfield, taken up by them nine weeks previously, Iv,an Kozul and Thomas Mullins, two prospectors, ohtained 52 tons of>ore which yielded 1733S ounces of gold, which is about double the value of the famous Eagle nugget found at Larkinville in January, 1931. The prospectors struck the rich reef about a foot below the surfaee. it ' varied from 6 inches to 10 inches | wide, and the ore was taken out to a depth of only 12 feet. About half of the gold came from a patch 5 feet long by 1 foot wide. Three days later came news from Coolgardie that 10 miles south, in the Burhanks district, two prospectors, T. Lonsdale and F. Purdy, located the cap of a reef on the abandoned Bell Bird lease, and obtained 58i ounces of gold from 101b of stone in a hole 3i feet deep. The ground is a mile and a half from the- old Londonderry mine, where, in 1894, 4300 ounces of gold was taken out of a hole 3- feet deep. These finds recall one by F. J. Miller and J. Irving at Coongarrie, on th'e North Coolgardie goldfield, in May, 193-1, when they won 600 ounces of gold from a small pocket, the stone being so rich that they dollied 300 ounces in one morning. Other rich yields repofted lately are: 11£ tons for 129 ounces for a prospecting area at Boogardie; 501b for 36 ounces from the Renown, near Grant's Patch, and 1 cwt. for 46 ounces from a prospecting area at Boogardie.
