TWO BRITISH STEAMERS STRIKE ATLANTIC GALE
Rugby„ Nov. 15. The British shipjs SaxRby (3630 tons) and St. Quentin 3528 to.ns) were reported in difficulties in a heavy gale in the Atlantie this morning. !The Saxllby sent out a wireless ' message requesting immediate assistance. A later message stated that ithe crew was trying to launch the b'oats, and early in the afternoon brief wireless message stated that the' Saxllby had been abandoned. The Saxllby's position was given as 500 miles west of Ireland. She is on her way from Newfoundland with a cargo of iron ore to Port Talbot. She carries a crew of 27. Danyaged But Not in Danger The St. Quentin is reported by her owners to' have sustained damage to her steering gear 300 miles west of Valentia> Ireland, while on her way to Montreal with a cargo of anthracite. She is waiting for the weather to moderate hefore repairs can he effected. The owners state she is not in any danger.
