A Wanganui resident whose house did not urgently require painting decided, however, to have the work done under the subsidy scheme, and hominated his son, .who was unemployed, to do the work (states "The Herald). He was advised that the subsidy had been granted and the work was proceeded with, - but when it came to collecting the money he was informed that there was an irregularity in that his son had done the work and the subsidy couid not be paid.
