The Government meteoroloplst )a•ued the following weather report and forecast last nltfht:— General situation: The second of the present series of -westerly depressions is now approaching the South Island, while an anti-cyclone of slight intensity covers South Eastern Australia. Winds: Strong north-westerlies to south- westerlies prevailing at first but southerlies gradually becoming general during the next 24 hours. Weather: Mainly fair and mild at first but later some rain developing probably in most districts. Temperatures becoming eooler. Following are the barometer, maximum'and rninimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Goverriment Observation Statio.ni by the Rotorua Tourist Departipent for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.936ins> Thermometer (max.) 69.1 deg. Thermometer (min.) 47.5deg. Thermometr (min on grass) 35.9deg. Rainfall nil Bright -Sunshine 11.6hrs.
