The Government meteoroloplst ls•ued the fplIowSha weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: An anti-cy-clone is passing to the north of New Zealand, while the first of a series of westerly depressions is approaching the South Island. Winds: South-west to westerly north of Kawhia and East Cape. Elsewhere westerly to north-wester-ly. Moderate mainly, but becoming stronger in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Mainly fair to fine. Mild hazy conditions with some scattered showers in westerly and far south districts. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermomster, sunshine, arid rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.886ins. Thermometer (max.) 65.7-deg. Thermometer (min.) 40.0deg. Thermometer (min on grass) 30-5deg Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 7.8hrs.
