ROTORUA CLUB JUNIOR GRADE FORMED FOR HIGH PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP DATES Several matters of interest to members were discussed at an executive meeting of the Rotorua Lawn Tennis Club, held at the end of last week, when the president, Mr. E. G. Guy, presided over a good attendanee. Correspondence received concerning the Wat't Cup and Dunlop Shield competitions was referred to the match committee. Ten nominations of intending members were received and approved by the committee. On the motion of the president it was decided to present two medals for the winners of the boys' and girls' championships of the Rotorua High 'School, and also to grant the winners one season's free membership of the club. It was also decided to recommend to the match committee that a ladies' B team visit the High School to play friendly games with the schools' A team. A suggestion by Mr. A. J. Harron that a junior section of the club, comprising Rotorua High School pupils be constituted, was approved, special hours of play up to 5 p.m. on each day except Wednesday and Saturday (when play will be allowed until noon) being stipulated. Play in tbis grade will not be permitted on Sundays, the subscription being fxxed at 15s per- member. Honorary membex-ship for the sea1 son was fixed at 5s. Discussing the visit of the English players, Mr. A. G. Holland moved a motion of thanks to the ladies, the president, the secretary and the match coxnxxxittee for the vast amount of work which had been done in connection with the visit. The motion was cax-ried, the president paying a tx'ibute to the lxearty co-opex*ation and enthusiasm of both the executive and the club members. It was mentioned that both the North Islaixd championships at Rotorua and the Wellington championships were to be played between January 17 and 20, 1934. The secretary was instructed to request the Bay of Plenty Association to bring the overlapping of dates before the Auckland Association.
