GERMAN EXPERIMENT JULES VERNE'S DREAM OF PASSENGER GONVEYING PROJECTILE successful test

Rec. Nov. 6. London, Nov. 5. The Referee's Berlin correspondent says that a passenger-carrying rocket successfully completed a tenminute journey, thus realising the dream of Jules Verne in his story, "A Journey to the Moon." The rocket was shot six miles into the air at a secret demonstration on the Baltic Island of Rugen, and Otto, a brother of the constructer (Herr Hugh Fischer) risked his life on the extraordinary journey. Otto entered a twenty-four foot torpedo-shaped steel projectile, sand was shot into the air with a deaf ening roar. Later Otto deelared he lost eonsciousness for a minute owing to the tremendous acceleration driving the blood from his head. The altimeter began to fall at 32,000 feet, Otto then opened the parachute attachment and began the deseent.
