MUSSOLINI'S QRDER t ITALIAN BACHELORS BEING DRAGOONED BY IL DUCE FORCED INTO MATRIMONY
— By Telegraph — Copyright).
Rome, Nov. 5. "Marry ,or resign!" is Signor Mussolini's order to all hachelors holding executive positions in the Fascist Party. Mussolini is always insistent that party leaders should follow his own example .of raising a large family. He has even persuaded some of his own reluctant Cabinet memhers to marry. The order is doubtless in pursuance of the hint that the Fascist Party lists now being prepared for seats on the Municipalities, Legislative Assembly, and Senate exclude hachelors many .of whom in the present Parliament are hurriedly seeking brides in the hope of winning the Duce's favour. It may be recalled that Signor Mussolini's first marriage "drive," made through the bachelor tax being devoted to maternity hospitals, proved such a crushing burden that many hachelors sought refuge in matrimony.
