The Govarnmsnt meteorolofllst isoued ths following weather repcrt and forecast laet night: — General situation: A cyelone which has been eovering the Dominion during the past few days is now moving eastward and is being followed hy a moderate anticyclone. Winds: Moderate to strong southerlies reaching gale force in plaees along the east coast. Weather: Still unsettled with further rain in most districts. Improving gradually from the west. Temperatures cold with snow possible ' on some of the ranges. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minim'jm thermomeier, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.663ins. Thermometer (max-) 68.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 43.7deg. Thermometer (min on grass) 31.8deg. Rainfall ...... 0.07ins. Bright Sunshine 4.4hrs.
