The Government metooroToplst is•ued the following weather report and forecast last nlfht: — General situation: A very slight anti-cyclone is now passing to the north of New Zealand while a westerly depression advancing from the Tasman is already crossing the South Island. Winds: Moderate to strong westerlies to' north-westerlies north of Otago, but changing to strong southerlies extending .from the south over the whole of the Dominion during the next 24 hours. Weather': Becoming -unsettled with rain in most districts. Temperatures cold with some hailstorms and snow on the high levels. Frosts inland in the south.
