EFFORTS BEING MADE TO CONSERVE HOME MARKET RESTRICTED IMIPORTS

London, October 27 Determined t0 stimulate home production and restrict foreign imports, the British Government has requested Australia and New Zealand to estimate their ship.ments of bacon to the United Kingdom during the next two years. The estimates will assist to decide the extent of th'e foreign cut, which possibly will be 16 per cent. The question of the Dominions restriotion, which would require the Dominions' consent, does not at present arise. Britain, however, desires the estimate not t0 he exceeded. iDenmark is most concerned, and is conferring with Mlr. W .E. Elliot, British Minister of Agriculture. The Anglo-Danish agreement entitles Denmark to supply 62 per cent. of Britain's foreign bacon.
