LETTERS TO COLLEEN

BUSY 1

BEE.

RED

ROiSE.

Dear Colleen, I am very sorry I did not write my letter sooner, but I have -been in bed for the last two days and have not been able to write. I am sorry I cannot tell you about the best picture I have seen, as I am not allowed to go to pietures, or anything that's exciting, but I will send you a joke instead. It was my little sister's birthday to-day and she got lots of presents, and mother made her a nice birthday cake and put six candles on it. Wasn't it a windy night on Monday, Colleen? Some people nearly got carried off their feet. I was very pleased to get my merit card on Saturday and now I have six

i of them. I will send in my colouring ! of "A Merry Xmas and a Happy { New Year" next week. I am so pleasedi to see Peter Pan coming fourth and I think Roxane and Zeno will tie for the gramophone points, don't you Colleen? Do you play tennis, Colleen? I wonder if you are such a keen player as I am. . I will send you a much bigger letter nex't week, as I have nothing' to tell you this week. I notice that the gramophone competition will soon be finished, but I still have a chance of winning a few more points. In lots of things we 1 have to( do I am very backward be- ' cause I cannot go to school. But I I do mv best. Colleen, and trust I al-

ways shall.

Dear Colleen, I have been round my friends again and I have one more member wh'ose card I am s'ending with this letter. I have received my card for the "Spring" essay, but not the one for my three new members, so I will be looking for it -on Saturday. On Labour Day some friends were igoing to go for a picnic, but when we woke up in the morning we found it was so windy that we deeided to sitay at home. On Saturday night, some visitors arrived by car, and on S-un-day afternoon they took us for a ride around the lake. In some places we stopped to lpok down at the scenefy below us. We had a lovely ride,(arriving home about five- o'clock. I ithink there was a little rnix-up about the merit cards this week, as Roxane received one with my name on. I hope Roxane reeeives her.right

card next time.
