SEVERAL SERIOUS CASUALTIES AT AMERICAN RODEO STEER RIDER KILLED

New York, Oct. 26. The recently inaugurated annuai rodeo at Madison Square Garden, where the most vicious horses and cattle are imported for bronco busting and steer dogging in Wild West style by volunteer entrants, showed a mounting casualty list to-day when one cowboy and three cowgirls sustained more or less serious injuries. "Doc" Lucas, a cowboy, died as the result of being thrown from the back of a bucking steer. Of the three cowgirls, one is suffering from a brolcen leg, another a broken anlde and the third internal injuries from being trampled on by a horse. The casualties total seventeen since the opening of the rodeo. Stage screen stars have volunteered their services for a tlieatrical benefit for the sufferers.
