A very humorous play, "The Farm•er's Wife," by Eden Philpotts, was read by the afternoon circle of the Wlomen's Club, which met at the horne of Miss G. La Trohe Hdll in Hinemoa St. last Tuesday afternoon. Japanese la'ntern creeper and cherry ' geraniums made attractive floral de-. corations in the dr,aiwing-room and to receiVe "hef guests the hostess wore a frock of venetian blue crinkle silk.'
