Pinafore," which was" produced hy the Rotorua Hiigjh School last evening were most cbarming and ' appropriate, and much praisq'ds due 'to Miss E. Simimiers and Mass E. Campbell, who were pr incipally re'sponsible for the designing of the. f rocks. ■ . ' As Josephine, Kathleen Goudie ' looked both picturesque and dainty in a crinoline gown of shell pink and magnolia ftaffeta, the full skirt being in small Ifrills to the Waist. Tlhe pink •bodice was ti'ght-fitting, and over this was worn a dainty tulle fischu frilled at the edges. . Lace mittens and a pink straw poke bonnet eompleted the iensemible. She wore a gold, poke bonnet tied with blue ribbon. " Valmai Musgrave, as Buttercup, had a rather more difficult role in'h'er portrayal of the bumtooat woman. Her full skirt was of red and white striped 'linen relieved with wide red hoops, '.this .being surmounted by a white cotton tunic and lace apron. A typically nautical adr was given to "the costume iby the plaid shawl which she 'wore around her shoulder and a large poke bonnet made a typically Victordan head covering. One of the features of the massed singing was the' chorus of "Cousins > anfl Aunts," dressed in similar Victorian gowns of red,' blue, orange and pink'sat'in. They .wore corresponding Henry VIII squat bats and black lace mittens.
