STOCK MARKET WESTFIELD Auckland, Wednesday. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Itd., Auckland, report as follows: — "At our weekly Westfield fat stock saies held to-day, we sold 101 head of beef, 43 steers and 58 cows and heifers as against 145 head last week. The quality was first-class and a keen demand resulted in values improving fully ls per 1001b. Good quality cow and heifer beef was yarded in small numbers and values for this class show a sharp rise on our last report. Extra choice ox sold to 20s per 1001b; choice and prime, 17s to 19s; just killable, 14s to 16s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 16s to 19s; just killable cow beef, 12s to 15s. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £7 10s to £7 15s (for steers on account of Mr. H. Reed, Wairenga). Lighter prime steers, £6 15s to £7 7s 6d; light prime, £5 12s 6d to £6 12s 6d; extra heavy prime ' young cows and heifers, £5 7s 6d to £6 7s 6d (for heifers sold on account of Mr. C. L. Orr). Heavy prime cows and heifers, £4 2s 6d to £5 5s; lighter prime, £3 2s 6d to £4 2s 6d; other killable cows, £1 12s 6d to £3. Ten extra choice steei£ from Mr. F. C. Bull, Ascot, averaged £6 8s 9d. Twenty-five good quality steers from Messrs Thompson and Ernest, Whakatane, averaged £6 10s 3d. Seven extra heavy steers on account of Mr. H. Reed, Wairenga, averaged £7 7s 9d. A line of 10 well finished cow3 and heifers on account of Mr. C. L. Orr, of Ohinewai, averaged £5 2s.
