The . GovArnment meteoroloplst leeued the following weather report and forecast ta«t nifht:— General situation: An anti-cyclone is passing away to the eastward. A rather deep depression is advancing from the Tasman on to New Zealand. Barometers are rising over -eastern Australia. • Forecast: Winds, westerlies to northerlies moderate to strong generally in places, reaching gale force. Backinigj to south-west sbortly in southern districts. Weather: Unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect and later in the eastern portions of the South Island. Elsewhere fadr to fine. Temperatures anild, a cold change later advancing- from the south. Followlng are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermorneter, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Governmeryt Observation Statron by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 houre ended at 9.30 a.m., yesterdayi ' Barometer 29.847ins.
