NEXT TASMAN FLIGHT

(Pi\ess Assn.-

may be delayed ENGINE FOR MONOPLANE NOT D,UE TILL . . . DECEMBER. CROSSING IN JANUARY

— By Telegraph — ^Copyright).

* Wellington, Tuesday. Advice has ben received from Sir -Uhartes Kingsford Smith which makes it douhtful whether the trans-Tasman flight .will now be undertaken before Christmas. Smithy , delayed shipping the engine for the Codoc mpnoplane from Englanid until he had had an opportunity of testing it with the result that it will not now arrive in Sydney until December 3. Consequently it is douhtful whether the machirie will be ready to fly the Tasman before Christmas. It is certain however that the Southern Cross and the Codoc maehine will both attempt the Tasman crossing together not later than mid-January. : Smithy may also bring the Percival;Gull plane in which he recently made ; hi?t England-Australia solo record, but it will be shipped, not flown.
