CLIMBER SLIPS AND CRASHES INTO iROCK Blenheim, Monday. An accident occurred yesterday morninig) when a climbing party was : negotiating The Pinnacle, 697ft, the highest peak in Bound's Range. Mr. Theodore B. Hay, a well-kxiown Blenheim draper, slipped on a snow slope a sh'ort distauce from the summit and slid 50ft till he was brought up by a rock, the impact breaking his xnght leg. Two companions, Messrs Frank Patehett and J. H. Hadfield, carried Mr. Hay ia. distance of 3000ft down the xnlounJtadn side, and here the injured man was placed on a horse which was brought up from the base camp. Blenheim was reached 12 hours after the accident, and Mir. Hay was admitted to hospital.
