OFFICIAL CLOSING DAY , AND PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS The Rotorua Golf Club offieially closed its season yesterday when a mixed f our somes was played and the presentation of trophies won during the year took place. Weather conditions were most inclement, but a large crowd of members and visiting golfers nevertheless assembled at the elubhouse for the short ceremony. In offieially declaring the season closed, the president, Dr. S. H. Hay, referred to the suceessful season that had been enjoyed by the club and stressed the remarkable progress that had been made by the junior members in partieular. The following trophies were then presented by Mrs. Hay: — • Saturday Players S. E. Carr, championship cup, Wilkie trophy, for best gross score, run-ner-up Kirk Windeyer Cup, Canadian foursomes trophy; H. Hamilton, junior championship cup; O. Jones, McDonald Cup and replica; P. Kusabs, eclectic match trophy, f our-ball bogey runner-up McDonald Cup, runner-up championship; W. Monk, jnr., runnerup junior championship; Empen, jnr., mixed foursomes trophy, president's medal, captain's prize. Mrs. Walden and S'pedding, jnr., mixed foursomes; A. W. Downer, medal trophy; A. Anderson, f our-ball bogey trophy, Canadian foursomes; A. Barker, f our-ball bogey trophy; Byrne, eclectic trophy; G. French, best nett score qualifying rounds McDonald Cup; Spedding, jnr., mixed foursomes trophy, Saturday bogey; P. Angus, medal 'match; C. H. Redhead, bogey match; L. J. Bayfeild, foursomes medal; E. Roe, foursomes medal; H. Parata, f our-ball bogey and bogey trophy; T. Kelly, f our-ball bogey trophies; McElroy, f our-ball bogey trophy; R. C. Smith, bogey match; A. V. P. Ford, f our-ball bogey, Kink-Windeyer visitors' cup replica; W. Anderson, f our-ball bogey; M. Carr, f our-ball bogey; Dr. Hay, consolation bogey. Wednesday Players R. Jones, sealed handicap trophy, eclectic trophy (Mr. Redhead's), bogey handicap ; A. French, medal foursomes, Canadian foursomes; Robinson, best score qualifying rounds Wednesday cup (Mr. Walden's trophy), Canadian foursomes; S. Smith, medal foursomes; Fenton, f our-ball bogey; W. Kusabs, flag match (Mr. Kinninmont's trophy) , runner-up Wednesday cup; W. Pakes, bogey match; E. Shalfoon, medal match; Carruthers, medal match; W. Monk, jnr., f our-ball bogey; Heywood, f ourball bogey. The mixed foursomes played during the day was won by Miss G. La Trobe Hill and S. E. Carr. In the evening a most suceessful wind-up social and dance was held in the elubhouse.
