COMPETITION MATCHES TO COMMENCE TO-MORROW
LABOUR DAY MATCH Tho Rotorua Cricket Association's McLean Cup competition will coramence to-morrow afternoon when two matches will be played in Rotorua and >ne at Mamaku. This season there ire indications that the personnel of he six teams in the competition have undergone considerable alteration, ■lthough most of the best known Rayers will again be donning the •»?.ds. An innovation this year which N-ould considerably benefit the game " - the suggested payment of official mpires, and it is probable that play- , will be levied threepence per play'n day for this purpose. The secrehury would be pleased to receive applications from old players willing to act as official umpires. Following is the draw for the open'ng series commencing on Saturday. All games will commence at 2 p.m. and stumps will be drawn for the day at 6 p.m. Albion v. Ngongotaha, Government Groixnds. High Scliool v. City at High School. Old Boys v. Mamaku at Mamaku. Teams The following will represent the respective clubs in to-morrow's games and players are required to assemble on the ground not later than 1.45 p.m. Albion : — Archer, Burton, Casey, Gresham, Gardner, Lenihan, Love, Lewis, Penno, S'utherland, Targett, twelfth man Lewis, inr.
City. — Hampson, Mason, Godsalve, Simmonds, Mulligan, McGill, Young, Porter, Thomas, Alexander, Hickey. Old Boys. — Neeson, W. Heley, Laurence, Matthews, N. Hinton, Beale, Lewis, Cottrell, Pipson, Ewert, Spedding. The team will assemble at Fuller's corner at 1.30 p.m. Labour Day Game On Monday, Labour Day, a holiday match will be played at Mamaku, tbe following having been selected to make the trip (other players desiring to take part in the match should advise the secretary, Mr. L. Gresham, immediately) : — Sutherland, Targett, Gresham, Casey, Archer, Gardner, Love (Albion), Hinton, Lunn (Old Boys), Mason, Alexander, McGill, Mulligan (City), Hewson (Ngongotaha), Alexander (High School). Players are required 'to assemble at the Rotorua Furnishing Company's .premises, Tu.tanekai Street at 9.30 a.m. sharp.
