WESTFIELD The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, report on the Westfield fat stock sale: — Beef was penned in less than average numbers. There was a ready demand with values very firm at late quotations. Extra choice ox sold to 19s per 1001b.; choice, prime, 16s to 18s; secondary and plain, 13s to 15s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 15s to 18s; secondary, 12s to 14s. Heavy steers ranged from £6 17s 6d to £7 10s; lighter, £5 15s to £6 15s; light, £4 12s 6d to £5 12s 6d; small and unfinished, £3 10s to £4 10s; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £4 10s to £5 5s; lighter, £3 7s 6d to £4 7s 6d; light, £2 5s to £3 5s; others, 25s to 42s 6d.
