mr. harold kidson appointed . to . vacancy . A BRILLIANT SCHOLAR

Dunedin, Wednesday It was decided, at a meeting of .the •Otago Boys' High School Board of Governors to appoint Mr. Harold P. Kidson, M.A., B.Ss., of Hutt , Valley High School, to' the position of re.ctbr of Otago Boys' High Schoolj to fill the vacancy created by the .retiremerit of Mr. W. J. Morrell, M.A.- .c ; Twenty applicatioris were received for the position including two from England and one from Australia. Mr. Kidson was born at Nelson -in 1887 and was educated at Nelson College and at Canterbury College where he took the degree of Master of * Arts with honours and later the degree- of Baehelor of Science. In 1910, -he- was appointed an assistant master at Nelson College and 1921 accepted a p,6sition on the staff of Christchurch Boys' High School. Two years later h'e was appointed to the seeondkry school inspectorate and left tbat position to take over the headmastersfiip of the Hutt Valley High - SchooT -in 1926. " Ih 1913, Mr. Kidson was awarded a travelling scholarship.
