NEW CODE PREPARED ON COMPREHENSIVE LINES
— By Telegraph — Copyright) .
Washington, Oct. 16. A code for fair competition, embracing national,- State and savings banks, trust companies, private banks, accepting deposits came into effect to-day. Rigid rules for the regulation trust business are embodied in the code, which probably will form the basis for similar, perhaps more specific, rules to be included in the investment code. The latter now is in process of being drafted. It seeks to correct those investment and banking practices condemned by the Senate Banking Committee as the result of investigations.
