The Qovernraent meteoroloqlst lesued the following weather report and foracast last nifht: — General Situation: A moderate anti-cyclone ;covers the Tasman Sea but a rather deep depression is crossing southern New Zealand. Winds: North-westeriies prevailing in parts of eastern districts. Elsewhere westerlies to south-westerlies moderate to stro'ng generally and of gale force at times from Cook Strait southwards. Weather: Changeable in districts with a westerly aspect and in parts of the East Coast district from Banks Peninsula southward. Elsewhere fair to fine. Cool tempferatures with inland frosts in the South Island. Following are the barometrrf maxlmum and minimum thermomstsr, sunshine, and rainfall readinga recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
