THE GOLDW:ATER TROPHY Following is the result of the first round of the Goldwater trophy competition played by members of the Motutara Golf Club over the weekend: — Miss Herrick beat Miss Moore, 1 up. Miss Hillcoat beat Miss Te Pou, 4 and 2. Miss E. C. Murray won by default from Miss Fitzgerald. Mrs. King beat Miss Jones, 1 up. Miss H. Mitchell beat Miss Cameron, 5 and 4. Miss Hislop beat Mrs. Davey, 9 and 5. Golf Balls Competition The results in the first round of the Golf Balls competition were as follows: — McNaughton beat Morrison, 4 and 3 F. W. Lee beat Casey,- 6 and 4. Watts beat Atkinson, 5 and 4. Potter beat Kingi, 1 up. Fisher beat Roache, 7 and 6. J. F. Lee beat Bellingham, 4 and 3. Merriman beat White, 2 up. J. B. Lee beat Martindale at the 20th. Robertson beat Mitchell, 6 and 4. Second Round Draws The draw for the second round of the Goldwater Trophy competition is as follows. All games must be played by October 23: — Miss E. C. Murray v. Miss Hislop. Miss Mitchell v. Miss Herrick. Mrs. King v. Miss Hillcoat.
