Lecture on Rugby Rules Mr. M. Kronfeld, the noted Auckland Rugby referee, will give a lecture on rules of Rugby football in the Citizens' Club on Wednesday, October 18, at 7.30 p.m. An invitation is extende'd to all referees and others interested to attend. Ritz Cabaret The management of the Ritz Cabaret announces the postponement of the usual Wednesday night dance of this week as a courtesy to the Rotorua Baslcetball Association which will be holding its annual hall in the Majestic Ballroom. In oi'der to provide dancing for patrons a dance will be held to -night, Tuesday, in the Ritz Cabaret at the popular prices of 1/and a special concession to the first 40 in attendance. Visiting FIyei*s Two well-known airmen were visitors to Rotorua yesterday. Mr. Ian Keith, instructor of the New Plymouth Aero Club arrived -during the afternoon, and went on to Whakatane, but returned to Rotorua in the evening. He will leave for home again this morning. The second flyer was Mr.'R. Matheson who flew from Wellington to Auckland with the film of Mr. H. Holland's funeral. He stopped in Rotorua on the way back and will continue his journey to the capital to-day.

Obituary The death is reported from Auckland of Mr. Isaac James Wilson, the founder of the Wilson Timber Co. and f ormerly well known through his business associations in Rotorua. Mr. Wilson spent practically the whole of his life in the timber industry and some four years ago, formed the company to take over milling opera- ' tions at Te Whaiti. Deceased was | born at Onehunga and in his youth | was a noted athlete. He was for a i numher of years engaged in sawj milling aetivities in the King Country ; and Waikato districts. He is survivad I by three married daughters, Mrs. J. i Young and Mrs. S. Bates, of Rotorua, j and Mrs. C. Smith, of Epsom, Auclc- : land. • t

Maori Delinquent A Maori named Rangi Moki was hi'ought before Messrs 0. H. Coleman and S. Hale, Justices of the Peace, yesterd'ay morning charged with drunkenness and the commission of an indecent act. On the first charge he was convicted and fined 5s and on the second 20s. Following impr.ovements to the paths and bridges the Waiotapu Thermal Reserve has been taken over by Capt. Walker, late of Tikitere, and is now open to visitors. The Waiotapu Reserve is one of the most interesting thermal areas and at the same time one of the least known in the locality- and its opening provides another outstanding tourist attracj tion for the district. The following scale of charges is being made: Adults ls 6d and children 9d (eonducted) ; ls and 6d respectively (unconducted) . Views of the Lady Knox Geyser and mudflats, 6d.
