KING'S KNAYE WINS CUP, GAY SHIELA CHAMPION IIACK SUBPRISE IN HIGHWEIGHT Auckland, Saturday. The first day of the Avondale Jockey Club's meeting was held today in inclement weather and interest somewhat detracted from the fixture on this account. There was a sensation in the Highweight when the winner, Versant, paid a double century dividend on the stradght out machine and a double figure price for a place.
