PONSONBY WIN SECOND GRADE After one of the most strenuous f orward struggles in the junior competition this .season, Ponsonby gained th& second grade championship when they defeated Grammar at the Showgrounds this afternoon by 3 points to 0. Both teams had won tlieif respective sections and to-day's match marked the thir d encounter of a series of games, the two preceding matches having resulted both - in a draw. Neither side had opened* the scoring till right up to withiii- five minutes of the whistle, when Grammar were penalised, Knox kicking a great goal from out near the sideline. Although Grammar made de^perate efforts to level the scores, the 'ponsonby defence never wilted, the wHistle 'blowing and giving Ponsonby the second grade championship hoii1 ours.
