Serviatti, who wore a long white shir.t, was made to sit straddled on a chair with his back to the firing party of twenty-four policemen, whose volley blew the top of his head off. Immediately the crowd rushed to get near the body, and vainly tried to break the cordon composed of caxabineers, militia and the firing party.
