Tho Govarnment msteorolofllst if Buod the following weather report and forecast last night: — A series of shallow westerly depressions continue to cross the south Tasman and the south of New Zealand, but th'e last is' likely to pass to-morrow, pressure having risen considerahly over south eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds. Northexdies moderate to strong generally reaching gale force in places and backing to westerlies and later southwesterlies. Weather: Fair to fine in eastern districts, elsewhere cloudy to overcast, with scattered rain and more general rain likely 'over the weekend. Temperatures warm, but cooler to-morrow. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermomater, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua T.ourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
