AMATEUR ATHLETICS
EVENING SPORTS ROTORUA CLUB TO OPEN TRACK SEASON TO-NIGHT EVENTS AND HANDICAPS -The track season of the Rotorua Amateur Athletic and -Cycling Club will he opened this evening with a sports meeting on "the Government Grounds commencing at 5.45 p.m., and already good entries have been received for the November-December series of events. In order to give late entrants an opportunity to competo in the series, it has been decided that further entries will be received by the seeretary, or Mr. A. de Luen, Hinemoa Street, up to midday to-day. Unless competitors enter from the first meeting they will suffer a disadvantage in other competitions for the aggregate points trophies of the season. Prior to the main programme, three events for primary school pupils over a distance of 50 yards will also be decided, the events being open to competitors of under 10, 12 and 14 years.
