After the enrolment of six new members, the thought for the mpnth was read by the president, who, in doingf so, said that it had been supplied by the league's Auckland repreSeptative, Mrs. Allen. "Turn your face to the sunshine and the shadows ~ will fall behind."' A. clever one-act drama, "Afternoon," was given by members of the Women'S Club literary circle, those taking part being Mrs. . H, Bertram, Mrs. D. M'. F'ord, Mrs. A. C. Rander-r son,; Mrs. H. H. Davis and Miss G. La Trobe Hill. Followdng afternoon tea (which was .served by Mesdames A. Robertson, Hi Roach, Reid, Orsler, Week and A. Watson) a very interesting addrefcs on the history of the Girl Guide movement was given by Miss E. J. Harris. The president gave notice that next month' the annual garden par;ty and children's Christmas tree wquld be held at the home of the vice-president, Mrs. H. Bertram, and an enjoyable afternoon was brought to conclusion by the hymn "Through the Night. of Doubt and Sorrow."
