Maori Party for Cambridge A Rotorua Maori concert party left by bus yesterday afternoon for Cambridge, where a concert will be provided. It is understood that a certain proportion of the proceeds of the trip will be utilised toward the beautification of the Whakarewarewa_ reserve. Whakatane Sports The programme for the Whakatane Amateur Athletic Cluh's Labour Day sports meeting- has been received by the secretary of the Rotorua Club, the attention of intending competitors is drawn to the fact that entries close on Tuesday next, October 17. Memhers of the Rotorua Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club intending to compete at Whakatane should interview the club secretary at the sports on the Government Grounds this evening. Improving Fenton Street The improvements, to the cycle track and the grass plots in Fenton Street south are proceeding apace, the workmen hav.ing reached the vicinity of Marguerita Street. Additions to Show Building Good progress is being made by the eontractors with the erection of the supper-room as an annexe to the A. and P. Association's show building, all four concrete walls being now completed. It is expected that the building will he ready for occupation within the time allotted in the contract. Dr. Watt, Director-General of Health, wrote in connection with the proposals at present before the board regarding King George V. Hospital, Rotorua. He said it was desired if convenient to the board to continue to provide some accommodation for the Rotorua Sehool Dental Clinic or to allow some of the surplus building materials to he utilised for the erection of a small clinic on another site.
