The Government mcteoroToflist i«sued the following weather report and forecast last night: — Genetal situation: One of the present series of westerly depressions crossed the South Island early this morning, but a second is now passing over the Tasman. An anticyclone is centred over the Great Australian Bight. Forecast: Winds. Squally northerlies reaching gale force at times in exposed positions. Weather: Fair at first but some scattered showers in westerly districts. More generally unsettled conditi'ons developing, however, in westerly districts and extending to eastern districts after about 36 hours. Temperatures mild. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Goverriment Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Departnient for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
