After a strenuous three days' play in the open championship, play in the amateur and professional foursomes to-day provided relaxation for eompetitors in the New Zealand golf tourney at Titirangi. In this contest partners drive in turn from the tee, and then play alternate shots. Two rounds are played. The Professionals The best round among the professionals this morning was 72 by Douglas and J. Clements. The results of the first round are: 1 Douglas and J. The best card in the first round was returned by J. P. Hornabrook and B. M. Silk, 72. The next best were: — H. Brinsden and B. J. Smith 74 B. Y. Wright and T. B. Ferguson 74 E. L. Abbott and H. P. Edmonds 79 The Gibson Cup The Gibson Cup for the best aggregate in the first two rounds of the open championship resulted in a tie between Blair and Mclntosh, and Blair won the play-ofl\ Myers Cup The Myers Cup for the best aggregate on handicap over the last two rounds was won by J. Clements, who defeated five others by one.stroke.
