OBITUARY

EARL OF CADOGAN London, October 4. The death is announced of the Earl of Cadogan, aged 64. I The Earl of Cadogan was the sixth to hold the title which was created in 1800. Deceased was hereditary trustee of the British museum and chairman of the British Olympic Council being the British representative on the international body. In his youth he joined the Life Guards in which he served as a lieutenant, and later was appointed captain in 'the 3rd Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment. He served with the Mounted Infantry in the South African War. He leaves a widow, one son and two daughters. The heir to the title is Viscount Chelsea, aged 19 years.
