SEQUEL TO COLLISION HEARD IN S.M.'S COURT An admission that he had cut the corner of Froude and Tryon Street, was made in the Rotorua Magistrate's Court yesterday hy a h'alf-caste Maori, Moses Morrison, who claimed that he had been dazzled hy the.headlights of an approaching car- when he had committed the offence. S-enior- Sergeant Carroll said that on the date of the information, September 11, defendant Morrison had collided with a-Hindoo's van as a result of cutting the corner when he had been turning out of Tryon Street. Defendant had subsequently admitted that he was on his'wrong side. •Constable A. C. Shilton said that he had taken measurements in the presence of Morrison and these showed' that defendant had cut the corner. Morrison had claimed that he had been dazzled hy the headlights of an approaching Car: Defendant had later given a statement in which. h'e admitted having been on his wrong side. Morrison was convicted and fined £2 wth 12/- costs. Defendant was allowed two weeks in which to pay.
