LADIES' HOCKEY
remits to council MEETING OF DELEGATES TO BE HELD IN WELLINGTON SHORTLY ELEGIBILITY FOR EXECUTIVE The following remits are to he placed before a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Women's Hockey Association to he held in Wellingtonon Monday, Ootober 9. It is interesting to note that several matters which were adversely commented Ppon by the Rotorua Ladies' Hockey Association in connection with the allocation-; of the annual tourn^ments in recent years are being dealt with, although it is possible that further remits in these matters will be forwarded from Rotorua for consideration at the annual general meeting. The remits to he considered are: — (1) That an invitation be sent to an Australian team to tour New Zealand in 1934. (2) That steps be taken by the New Zealand association to- partieipate in one of- the big art unions as at an early date as possible. (3) That an English team be invited to tour th'e Dominion in 1935. (It -is suggested that if about twelve games were played a guarantee of between £50 and £60 would be required from each association participating. It is believed that an All-England team will be visiting Australia in that year, and it has been suggested that the .tour be extended to inelude games in New Zealand). (4) That rule seven of the tournament rules be amended :to read "Any association desiring rhat the tournament fhali be held in 'is d-s'-ict, m any year, shall give notice ii. writn-g to the stcvttary of tnc ."N-w alar.d Women's Hockey A s.; >eiation on, or before Att;1 2j and sucli r.-. lice shall ?tate ihe ;own in whicb it is proposed tc hold the tournament t; gether with the following information, (a) number of grounds, (h) distance from town and cost of transport, (c) number of billets guaranteed. (5) That, the -allocation of the tournament shall he decided at a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Women's Hockey Association to be held not later than one month after the closing date of applications. (6) That no member of the executive of . the Wellington Women's Hockey Association, or any of its sub-associations he elegible to occupy a seat on the management committee of this -association. (7) That the conference be hdd at the same time as the annual meeting. Rotorua Support It is understood that the Rotorua Ladies' Hockey Association, which will be reprcsented at the meeting of the council, will provide its support to every remit but the first. The objection to an invitation to an Australian team during 1934, is that if an English team toured the Dominion in the following- year, the probabb expenses in connection with both tours ' would place too great a burden on the various associations. The tour of an English team would prove far more suecessful than that of an Australian visit. ( i
