RUMBERG v. VARGA BOUT PROMISES MANY THRILLS
Hal Rumberg and Count Varga, who are the chief contestants at tonight's big wrestling bout are diverse personalities, yet almost equally proficient at the strenuous and exciting sport. Rumberg is over six feet in height and weighs over sixteen stone. He is of a strikingly athletic type and his blonde colouring suggests a Nordic strain. In the ring he looks dour, moves fast and makes a specialty of 'the flying scissors. Varga is more stocky than Rumberg but is nearly as heavy. He wrestles in bare feet and moves with a quick action. In the street he dresses well wearing a hard hat, spats and shoes. . . * His favourite wrestling hold is the punishing headlock with which he flings his opponent around the ring. The two are anxious for to-night's meeting as Varga is reported to be keen for another match with Walker. Varga has so far not been able to get into the ring with Rumberg and consequently feels that he has a grudge about the matter Therefore tonight's bout is likely to he a partieularly roubust one Very good preliminaries have been arranged in which several Rotorua wrestlers and visitors will appear. The main bout will not start until' well after nine o'clock in order to allow busines people to see it. Music will be provided before the bout and in the interval by the Ritz orchestra.
