HITLER'S DAY
EVERY MINUTE OCCUPIED IN LABORIOUS LIFE. A glimpse of the daily laborious j life of Herr Hitler has been igiven to ! the German public by the man best ! able to give it — Dr. "Walther Funk, i head of the Press Bureau of the GoI vernment, who goes every morning at I 10 o'clock to repoft to the Chancellor (says the Daily Mail). "Early in the morning Adolph Hitler goes to his desk for concentrated work," said Dr. Funk.
"Day by day and hour by hour for years past he has schooled himself to give the utmost of his spiritual and intellectual powers to the German revolution and now to the State. He has developed into the greatest genius among our contemporaries. From 10 to 11 Herr Hitler confers with the State Secretary of the Chancellery and with Dr. Funk, and then he receives in audience, unless there is a meeting of the Cabinet, until two o'clock. From 2 to 4 there is supposed to be a pause for rest, but in fact the Chancellor gets no rest, for there is 1 always a number of guests at-lunch-eon. Among the regular guests are Dr. Gobbels, Minister of Propaganda, and Herr Hanfstangl, who was attached to the German delegation to the Word Economic Conference. Leaders' of the Nazi Party from the provinces are often invited, and the Chancellor talks to them with keen interest. Herr Hitler's meal consists chieflly of eggs and vegetables, for he eats no meat and he neither drinks wine nor smokes. °At 4 o'clock work is resumcd, and in the evening he may speak at a meeting. Very occasionally he goes to the opera or to a theatre. He retires late and often reads far into the night.
