GRAND THEATRE

"WALKING DOWN BROADWAY" TO BE SCREENED TO-NIGHT The world's most famous thoroughfare, playground for millionaires and the millions, forms the setting for the drama unfolded in "Walking Down Broadway" ,Erich Von Stroheim's Pox production, featuring James Dunn iand Boots Mallory, and opening at tjhe Grand Theatre tonight. James Dunn, as Jimmie, sav-ings-bank salesman, and Boots Mallory, pretty ash-blonde screen import from New Orleans, as Peggy, are the principals in the romance that motivates the plot. Supporting them, in three widely different characterisations, are ZaSu Pitts as Millie, pathetically homely girl-friend; Minna Gombell as Mlona, hardened lady, and Terrance Rayi as Mac, typical Broadway wise-guy. Briefly, the plot thivad runs as follows: Peggy and Millie go for a walk down Broadway hoping to attract companionship. They meet Jimmie and Mac, who have the same intention. Confl'ict ent/Drs this introductory setting when Jimmie and Peggy frankly avow their preference and enter into ia whirlwind romance. Wlhen Peggy malces known to Jimmie the fact that they will have to hasten their wedding, Mac insists that she is lying. The result is a misunderstanding leading to a bitte r quarrel between the sweethearts. Peggy makes known to Millie, and to her friend, Mona, that she is to have a baby, thus climaxing this tangled romance that began as an innocent walk down Broadway.
