"SMITHY'S" FLIGHT

WILL LEAVE LONDON ON SUNDAY, WEATHER ' PERMITTING (Rec. 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, Sept. 27. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith has cabled from London that he will begin his flight to Australia next Sunday, weather permitting. He will use a Percival gull machine which will have a cruising range of 1600 miles and a speed of 140 m.p.h. His route will be via Brindisi, Karachi and Calcutta.
